MISSION STATEMENT
Skaters for Eugene Skateparks’ mission is to create a comprehensive system of world-class public skateable terrain in Eugene, Oregon.
Our vision is to make skateboarding safe and freely accessible to every skateboarder year around for everybody’s benefit.
THE W-J BRIDGE PROJECT
SES is currently working to ensure that a flagship covered skatepark is built under the Washington-Jefferson Street Bridge in downtown Eugene. The mission of the the Bridge Skatepark is to involve the community in revitalizing the Washington-Jefferson Park by building a 20,000+ square foot destination skatepark under the existing cover of the I-105 bridge in a currently underutilized area, allowing the only regional opportunity for year-round and fully-lit use by local and visiting skate enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. The goals of building this skatepark are: to establish a premiere concrete skate park where skaters can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering people or damaging property; to develop a well-maintained park open to skaters, spectators, and other park users who are willing to uphold the park’s rules and restrictions; and, to view this park as a community project, designed to satisfy the needs of skaters and families.
