Quest has one of the most popular longboard skateboards with over 1,000 customer reviews. So definitely, they are a good and reliable skateboard brand.
They have a product line that features many types of boards like old-school banana boards, cruiser boards, longboards, downhill boards, etc.
These are great choices for downhill bombers, riders who want a stylish transporter, or thrill-seeking folks who want a cool ride for fun!
Let’s look a bit deeper into this brand and see what it can offer you!
Quest Brand Overview
Quest is a company based in LA. Their boards, however, are “Made in Mars”. At least, that’s what they say.
In fact, Quest stands behind the quality of their boards. They have this quirky “alien” company culture that makes them stand out from the crowd.
While other companies take components here and there and put them together, Quest makes all of their products from scratch. Yes, every single component. They understand what you ask for when you spend your money.
Working with the pioneers in skateboard, snowboard, and surf industry, Quest designs and makes boards with fresh graphics, artisan wood, and excellent performance.
Quest says that “Life is a Quest. Enjoy the ride!”. We think that’s a very cool slogan!
Quest Skateboards Characteristics
First of all, Quest skateboards are very affordable. Their boards are priced from $51 to about $87.
You won’t find any Quest skateboards over $100. With such a sweet price point, Quest is a very good choice for starters.
You can spend $50 on a high-quality skateboard to see whether skateboarding is the thing for you. If you don’t like it, you can give the board to your siblings or friends without losing too much money.
If you do a quick search, you’ll see that high-end skateboards cost over $100 and sometimes over $200.
2. Types of boards
Quest mostly sells longboard skateboards. If you’re new to the sport, longboards are those that are over 34 or 36 inches long.
They do have some cruiser board models as well. There’s a very cute 24” Raptor board priced at $40 specifically made for cruising. Kids will be able to enjoy these rides as well.
Some of the Quest longboards are over 40 inches long. Also, they have the special drop-through decks that are made for the downhill bombing. Those are really cool.
If you’re looking for complete skateboards, we’re afraid that you won’t find a very wide collection here. They don’t have that many skateboards for tricks either.
However, if you’re into some downhill racing plus surfing the sidewalk, then Quest is definitely on the top of the list.
3. Skateboard design
You’ll find some very common skateboard shapes on Quest boards. There’s the regular bullet shape board.
Also, you’ll find some pintail designs that are great to prevent wheel bites or wheel grabs on extreme turns.
The cut-out deck is also a very nice touch. Out of the three, we think this is the most beautiful design.
The most innovative design Quest has is probably the combination of a drop-through deck and a fishtail deck. The Quest Formula One Downhill longboard is exactly what we’re talking about. You’ve got to check it out.
Quest boards never disappoint. Firstly, all of their boards are either made from bamboo or hardwood maple. This ensures strong support, even for heavy riders.
Second, the bearings are ABEC 7. With boards that are priced around $50, it’s a very good thing already to have high-quality ABEC 7 bearings. Those are fast and durable.
Also, their trucks are made from long-lasting and lightweight aluminum. It’s light enough to make carrying the board easy. It’s also strong enough to carry you through every twist and turn.
The configuration of the truck has a reversed kingpin. This helps tremendously with stability.
Their wheels are about 51mm, which is a pretty nice size. The wheels roll fast and are buttery smooth. Thanks to their PU outer case, they also give you a very strong grip. We love the red wheels version!
If you get the Quest Rorshack Bamboo longboard skateboard, you’ll find a little kicktail on the deck. This is a cool touch allowing you to do some kick or flip tricks with the board.
